CAPTAIN'S LOG
August 8, 2000
I have finished a new work entitled "Lewis and Clark, Foggy Morning, 1804". This is my first attempt to depict the keelboat as it was poled upstream. Note the four men on each side of the boat pushing against their poles. Two other crew members are trying to push away from the shallow bank as two other members man the rudder. On my ReDiscovery 98 and 99 trips on the Missouri River and Ohio River these foggy mornings very common. I love to see the sun rise through the fog.
